Ardeshir Darabi is a corporate, commercial and intellectual property lawyer and a registered trade-mark agent. He has broad legal experience advising clients in many different business sectors, with particular expertise in the technology sector.
Ardeshir has extensive experience preparing and negotiating various commercial contracts including licensing, distribution, reseller, agency, software and technology development, confidentiality, non-competition and IT outsourcing agreements. He regularly advises clients on protecting, enforcing and commercializing their intellectually property, and on privacy issues. Ardeshir also assists clients with regulatory compliance including advertising and consumer protection matters, in particular as they relate to the computer gaming and payment industries. He has structured, negotiated and documented many acquisition and divestiture transactions including share and asset purchases and assists clients with business succession. In addition, Ardeshir has experience with real estate transactions. He also assists clients with immigration matters related to business investment and family.
Ardeshir holds a Bachelor of Laws degree from the University of British Columbia and a Master of Laws degree from Osgood Hall, York University. Ardeshir was called to the British Columbia Bar in 1998. He worked in private practice for the first seven years of his legal career with major law firms in Vancouver. He then moved in-house to practice as General Counsel for the leading distributor of prepaid and stored-value products and provider of point-of-sale activation technology in Canada, where he also held executive management responsibilities. Ardeshir joined Sager Legal Advisors LLP in January of 2012.
Prior to entering the legal profession, Ardeshir obtained a Bachelor of Applied Science in electrical engineering from the University of British Columbia and practiced engineering for over four years. He lives with his family on the North Shore of Vancouver. He enjoys reading, traveling and coaching his son’s soccer team.
